Make an Impact Through Donor Advised Funds

“My wife and I chose to put funds we intended over time for philanthropic giving into a tax-deductible donor advised fund – it streamlines the giving process so that we can easily and happily respond to an appeal or campaign from Citizen Advocacy.”

Consider CA for Your IRA RMD

“When you reach a certain age, you are required to withdraw a minimum amount from your IRA. We thought it a perfect opportunity to use part of our RMD (required minimum distribution) as a donation to Citizen Advocacy. We authorized our retirement account to pay them directly so we can get a tax deduction, too.”
-Ed and Diane Cohle, West Chester

Many Methods of Giving over Many Generations

Starting with David Frees Jr in 1986, the Frees family has donated in every possible way to support Citizen Advocacy. Sons Dave and Robb and grandson Tyler and their families have carried on the tradition through their corporate sponsorships of the race and theater events, their work on committees, their campaign leadership, their Family Foundation donor advised fund gifts – they have created their own fundraiser for CA at the Colonial Theatre, and run in our annual Phoenixville Run (with numerous wins in the Clydesdale and age group categories over the years!), and Dave has served as MC for the theater event. Dave says, “From the time Robb and I were kids, our parents taught us that we were blessed to be part of an amazing town/community, that all people are worthy of respect and kindness, that we could learn something from everyone we meet, and that we should look for ways to be the most help, in the best ways. That led us to Citizen Advocacy and for three generations, we have never looked back. It’s our honor to donate our time, resources, and efforts to this amazing group of people who don’t just talk but who bring folks together to make all of their lives better. Thank you, Citizen Advocacy!”
